Who We Are!

Cindy is the founder of Ciao Travel, and she loves her work in creating dream holidays and cultural experiences for her clients, and for them to immerse into the local food, wine, arts, history and environments they are visiting on vacation.

These cultural encounters, Cindy says have been achieved by the wonderful relationships she has accomplished with her business friends and colleagues abroad, built up over many years.  They are true representation of Ciao Travel’s ethos for travel, and are all dedicated to presenting their homeland charms with others to enjoy.

The dream for Cindy, to become a travel consultant was a natural career choice from the age of 10, along with the desire to travel which was inspired by family members who migrated from Scotland and Europe. On finishing school, she already had a part-time position in a local agency on weekends and school holidays, which lead to a full-time position once finished. Thenceforth, she has work and studied hard participating in all the travel industry training, required to gain the necessary qualifications and to ensure her expertise was well established.  Cindy now has 36 years being involved in the travel industry in various areas; retail, wholesale, and small group tours; working in the UK, Europe and here in Australia. Cindy continues to participate in ongoing Travel Industry training, workshops, courses, seminars, conferences, along with her business trips to Europe.

Having travelled to most corners of the world extensively, this gives her more reason to share her personal knowledge and experiences in tailoring itineraries for Italy and Europe, Britain, Ireland; North America, Mexico & South America; Asia; India & Maldives; Africa; Middle East; the Pacific Islands & New Zealand; and of course, the many beautiful locations and natural wonders of Australia.

In 2008, on opening Ciao Travel, Cindy ventured into creating her “Shop Window” being her website, working together with talented and creative web designers, whom together, with her own scripting and photography (Snaps, as she refers to them), they develop this valuable tool for providing information on Ciao Travel's services.

Cindy has also studied Social Anthropology and European History at Deakin University; and Italian Language and Horticulture, all as a mature age student for personal interest.

On a personal level, family is important (husband Sergio, the two children and their two mischievous poodles) as they are the love of her life, and three out of five are her best travel buddies!

Favourite past times are beach walks, yoga, Pilates, gardening, cooking, gourmet encounters, socializing with family and friends, the arts, music, reading, watching wildlife documentaries and international movies, and of course ... travelling!
